Human's have been searching for ways to scratch their backs since the beginning. From acting like a bear and rubbing ones back on a rough surface to getting someone with reasonably long fingernails to scratch our backs, mankind has been obsessed with finding a better way to reach that elusive itch that is just out of reach.

To date most backscratchers emulate a hand or claw made from various materials from bamboo, to metal with telescoping handles. Eventually the bamboo splits or breaks and the flimsy metal telescoping ones bend or break as well, meaning you are once again looking for a better way to scratch your back.

Other problems with conventional backscratchers is they they only work in one position. You have to manipulate that tiny claw to be perpendicular to your back, then as you scratch that itch, you must keep it properly oriented while attempting to apply the proper amount of pressure, but not to much or you may break the fragile antenna styled telescopiing handle, or snap that bambo or wooden handle.

How It Happened

from a dream to reality...

They say necessity is the mother of invention. In our case that could be more accurate. We tried countless backscratchers and most left us disappointed. So we set out to learn what makes a great backscratcher. First we asked our friends and family, them we started researching existing backscratchers and we actually purchased many of the most popular backscratchers available. Some bent when trying to use them, other were difficult to position properly and other broke them moment we tried to use them. Needless to say we weren't happy with any of them.

Our family consists of engineers and medical professionals so we loaded up the CAD (Computer Aided Design) software and started to design various devices. After several hundred designs we found one that worked, and worked well. With the assistance of 3D printing we were able to print out several prototypes and actually use them, and continuously modify the design until we arrived at the perfect design. We gave them to our friends and family and even to medical professionals and waited for feedback.

The results were in. We had designed the best, most functional bodyscratcher ever!
